Dubai, June 13, 2025 — Khansaheb Civil Engineering was honoured to welcome His Excellency Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation and Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, to one of our key project sites, the Dubai Exhibition Centre. The visit comes in line with the launch of the UAE’s annual "Midday Work Ban", which takes effect on Sunday, June 15, and runs until September 15, prohibiting work under direct sunlight and in open areas between 12:30 pm and 3:00 pm daily.
During the visit, His Excellency was received by Mr. Tariq Khansaheb, Chairman of the Board of Directors, who provided an overview of the proactive measures Khansaheb has implemented to uphold the highest standards of worker welfare, occupational health, and safety. This includes the provision of shaded, air-cooled indoor rest areas on site, cold rooms, ice machines and Aqualyte hydration solution, and other facilities designed to ensure the comfort, safety, and wellbeing of our workforce throughout the summer.
Khansaheb’s approach reflects our long-standing commitment to sustainability and social responsibility, with worker welfare forming a core pillar of our operational philosophy. We remain fully aligned with the UAE's efforts to protect and empower its workforce, particularly during the hotter months when the risks of heat stress and dehydration are heightened.
His Excellency commended Khansaheb for its pioneering worker welfare initiatives and our continued contributions to enhancing the competitiveness and resilience of the national labour market. He also recognised the essential role that private sector entities play in driving the UAE’s vision for a safe and sustainable working environment.
Also in attendance during the visit were representatives from Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, Aster Medical Group, and National Food Products Company, who delivered valuable onsite services and gifts to our workforce, including medical check-ups awareness sessions focused on preventing heat-related illnesses.
Now in its 21st year, the ‘Midday Break is a testament to the UAE’s steadfast commitment to maintaining a safe, humane, and dignified working environment for all. At Khansaheb, we are proud to support this initiative and will continue to lead by example in creating safe and inclusive workspaces that reflect both local values and international best practices.
